Main Street Mount Holly Celebrates New Jersey’s 350th Birthday

with a Pop-Up Store in Our Historic Downtown!

Come out to visit and shop the NJ 350 Pop-Up Store, hosted by Main Street Mount Holly and Mill Race Village, at 2 Mill Street (just across from the fountain & Robin’s Nest) in the eclectic and historic town of Mount Holly, NJ. The hours of the store in Mount Holly are:

  • October 9th 1-8 pm

  • October 10th 1-7 pm

  • October 11th 2-10 pm

  • October 12 12-4 pm

The NJ350 Pop-Up Store, which has been popping up all over the state to celebrate New Jersey’s 350th birthday, specializes in merchandise with a unique New Jersey focus. Featured products are what curators have dubbed ‘Jerseyana.’ Included are the ‘Jerseyopoly’ board game and “Goodnight, Jersey” children’s book, as well as NJ350 and state-branded merchandise; educational items; books about New Jersey – its history, quirks, nature, food, and politics; items specific to the history and shopping in Mount Holly; Governor Chris Christie’s popular state-silhouette lapel pin; items from the Island of Jersey (from which NJ received its name) and more.

The NJ350 pop-up store project is made possible by Main Street New Jersey, the NJ Department of Community Affairs and the NJ Historical Commission, and is sponsored by vend, SnapRetail, IKEA,Friends of NJ State Museum, RetailMinded, Storesigns.com, ITO Design, Alignable, and the NJ State Museum. Promotional partners for this year-long program include Independent We Stand, BALLE and the American Independent Business Alliance.

“We’re so thrilled that Mount Holly was chosen to host New Jersey’s 350th Pop-up store program,” said Jackie DiCarlo, Design Chair of Main Street Mount Holly, ”our truly historic downtown has a small but high-quality mix of eclectic retail, dining, arts, and entertainment. Our Main Street district is just the right place for this first-of-its-kind project. While we are hosting the store, our regionally-known annual Witches Ball will take place (October 11th), adding yet another reason to come to downtown Mount Holly this fall.” Our store will also host the following events to make a visit here even more interesting (all events are at the NJ350 Pop-Up Store at 2 Mill St.):

  • Grand Opening 10/9: Music by Rich Carty starting at 5:30 p.m. followed by a 6:00 p.m. ribbon cutting with Mayor DiFolco and wrapping up with a 7:00 p.m. wine tasting with Red White & Brew

  • Book Signing/Meet the Author 10/10: with Mount Holly resident and author Jan Bastien at 6:00 p.m.

  • NEW ADDITION! Wine Tasting 10/10: Valenzano Wine Outlet will be doing a wine tasting at 7:00 p.m.

  • Book Signing/Meet the Author 10/11: with renowned author of American Dictators, Steven Hart at 4:00 p.m.

  • Basket Weaving Demonstration 10/12: by Mary Carty of the Pinelands Folk Music and Basketry Center

NJ350 will open additional pop-up stores throughout 2014 in locations such as Atlantic City, Montclair, Bridgeton and South Orange. The final pop-up store will open in the state capitol of Trenton in December 2014.
